San Diego at New York

The Mets are dismal on offense, #29 in runs scored in baseball. New York managed only five hits in Wednesday's 7-3 loss. San Diego is playing well, 7-4 since the All-Star break, and the team is 3-1 in Andrew Cashner's last four starts. Cashner struck out five and walked one while holding the Marlins to one run on five hits over seven innings Friday. The Padres are 5-2 against a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and 6-2 following a win. NY starter Jon Niese (5-9) is off a bad game, a 7-2 loss allowing eight hits and six runs in three innings. The Mets are 4-9 in Niese's last 13 starts and he has a 4.61 ERA at home with a losing record. San Diego is 5-2 against the Mets, so jump on the hot visitors and play on San Diego.
