The Mets go for the sweep today as they have handled the Padres through the first two games of this series, outscoring them 19-6 in the process. It hasn't been within the Mets arsenal, however, to get the sweep as they swept just one National League team last year from May 11th on. Eric Stults is a sleeper in the Padres' rotation, as he was claimed off waivers from the White Sox a year ago, and finished by winning seven of his last eight starts. Stults has also mastered the Mets with a 2-1 record and 2.58 ERA against them. While the Mets have had trouble closing out a series after winning the first two, the Padres have salvaged game three in five straight series after dropping the first two. Go with San Diego.
