San Diego is 1-1 on this road trip, winning the opener of this series as a dog. The Padres have an excellent arm on the hill in Andrew Cashner (5-3, 3.34 ERA), who doesn't walk many and has allowed fewer hits than innings pitched. He has a 2.38 ERA his last three starts. He faces a truly awful Miami offense, one ranked 30th in runs scored, on-base percentage, and slugging! He threw 7 1/3 shutout innings in his previous meeting against the Marlins May 6. The Padres are 9-4 as a favorite and 6-2 in their last eight games as a favorite of -110 to -150. The Marlins are 21-44 against a right-handed starter, and 2-7 in pitcher Nate Eovaldi's last nine starts. When these teams meet, the Padres are 4-1, as well as 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in Miami. Play the Padres.
