Despite running into a buzz-saw last night, the Padres have to feel good that they almost came back to win. Aaron Harang broke a long-standing Dodgers record of eight straight strikeouts by Johny Podres, by striking out nine in the first nine outs he recorded. Joe Wieland gets the ball for San Diego tonight, and he will be making his major league debut, off some impressive minor league numbers that show 408 strikeouts in 438 innings and walking just 80. Ted Lilly now at 36-years-old is in decline and started the season on the DL with a stiff neck, and may not be 100% here and will likely be on a short leash. The Padres got to the Dodgers pen last night, and will get to see a lot of them again tonight. Play on San Diego.
