San Diego at Los Angeles

Both teams are coming off tough series with Los Angeles losing two straight to the lowly Orioles and San Diego losing three times to the archrival Dodgers, including a grueling 16-inning affair on Wednesday. The Padres scored only five runs in the series and have fallen 16 games behind in the NL West, although they are only two games back in the Wild Card race. The Padres have lost eight of their past nine games and haven't scored more than five runs in any of them. The Angels have more of an excuse as they just finished a 10-game trip, winning four of them. The Angels have won six of the past seven meetings, and they have won five of seven home games following a trip of at least seven days. Joe Musgrove hasn't been as effective as he was earlier in the season, and he has allowed 21 earned runs in his last 50 1/3 innings. Take the Angels.
