It has been quite the breakout year for D-backs pitcher Ian Kennedy. Once a charm in the Yankee system, Kennedy has seized the opportunity with the D-backs and has run out to an 18-4 mark with an ERA just shy of 3. The Padres have actually been a better road team this season, and they will start Cory Luebke. At 5-8, Luebke won't present a standout record, but his 3.29 ERA is right there with what Kennedy has done, so the margin here is closer than the line offered. The biggest difference here is the Padres’ 2.96 ERA from their pen ranks No. 2 in baseball while Arizona at 3.83 is in the bottom 1/3. That supports the fact that this line is inflated due to Kennedy. The Padres are also 4-0 in Luebke's last four on regular four day’s rest. I'll go with the dog here, and play on San Diego.
