This offense is weak and starter Jason Marquis may have a 6-2 record, but he's allowed 45 hits and 28 walks in 55 innings, a lot of base runners. He's also 3-7 with a 4.31 ERA in his career against Arizona, walking 43 in 96 innings while allowing 86 hits. The Padres are 17-35 in their last 52 road games vs. a left-handed starter, and face southpaw Patrick Corbin (7-0, 1.44 ERA), who has dazzled. His last three starts: 3-0 with a 0.81 ERA, the best pitcher in the National League. Corbin is coming off his best start of the season, a complete-game three-hitter in a win over the Rockies that pushed him into the NL lead in wins. He also ranks second in ERA, eighth in WHIP (0.98) and has a miniscule .196 batting average allowed.  The Diamondbacks are 16-5 in Corbin's last 21 starts.
