The Diamondbacks have been 20-14 over their last 34 games which has nudged them over the .500 mark. They were shutout here last night by San Diego, so they should be in an ornery mood when they take the field for this one. This time Arizona will have a decided pitching advantage. Ian Kennedy isn't the pitcher he was last season, but over his last seven starts he is regaining the magic, allowing 3 runs or less in six of them. Clayton Richard has pitched well at home for San Diego, but the road has been a different story where the Padres are just 3-10 in his 13 road starts this season. That has been worse vs. a winning team, where San Diego is 0-7 in his last road starts. Contrast that to the D-Backs’ 23-6 mark behind Kennedy when he pitches inside the division. Play on Arizona.
