The NL Central has become the pinnacle of all the playoff races as we head down the home stretch of the regular season. Pittsburgh is currently in third place, but just two games off the pace and certainly are a contender. They have a chance to gain a game in St. Louis behind Gerrit Cole, who has pitched very well on the season. Cole has led Pittsburgh to nine wins in his last 11 starts. He has made three impressive starts on the season vs. St. Louis, turning in a nifty 2.25 ERA. Lance Lynn has struggled vs. Pittsburgh where he owns a career 4.73 ERA against them in 12 starts and a pair of relief appearances. Pittsburgh has been an impressive 16-5 behind Cole in his last 21 starts to a total of 7-8.5, while the Cards battle themselves vs. right handed pitching of late at just 1-4 in their last five against them. Pittsburgh in this one.
