Pittsburgh at St. Louis

We faded the Cards last night and notched the underdog winner on the Cubs. Not tonight. Chris Carpenter is one of the best pitchers of the decade as he seems to be well on his way to Cooperstown as Cy Young Awards seem to clutter his pathway of late. Carpenter is 2-1 this year with a 1.67 era and this follows last year's stellar Complimenting him is one of the best batting lineups in all of baseball as a supporting cast with the likes of Edmonds, Puljols and Rolen. He's also got arguably the best bullpen in the majors backin ghim up as well as a Hall of Fame Coach. The heavy juice here is well worth the investment. Carpenter was a perfect 4-0 against the Pirates last year yielding 8 runs in 30 innings of work whereas Perez wass 7-5 with a +5 era last year and things have gotten worse as he is 1-2 with a 6.75 era currently. Keep in mind that the Pirates beat the Cardinals in a blowout 12-4 win against St. Louis back on 4/18 when Perez was on the mound and the Cardinals and their batters will look to get revenge with their ace on the mound tonight.
