The Pittsburgh Pirates have been a disaster for as long as anyone can remember, but this team is slowly turning the corner. Last year they were 51-44 through 95 games, but they didn’t have the depth to overcome inevitable injuries and faded late in the season. The Giants locked-up Matt Cain in a long-term deal, but he is one of those pitchers that always seem to be a hard-luck loser. Despite pitching well over his career, he is a disappointing 67-72 for his career and was hit hard in his 2012 debut. McDonald has come up aces for the Pirates when opening a series, leading them to a 4-0 mark in his last four outings in a series lid-lifter. The Giants are getting outpitched to totals of 6.5 or less, where they are just 6-13 in their last 19. Play on Pittsburgh.
