It is easy to dismiss this Pittsburgh team that lost over 90 games again last year, and has never been a contender. What went unnoticed and forgotten was their 51-44 start a season ago. The problem is that they had no depth in the rotation or the bench, and as injuries started mounting in the second half they fell apart. The Dodgers have a very shallow lineup, and can be pitched to. Ethier, and Kemp are big-time hitters, but not much surrounds them. Karstens has delivered for the Pirates as a dog of +110 to +150 where they are 5-2 in his last seven starts in this dog role. Chris Capuano had a big year for Milwaukee back in 2005, but has not had a winning season since, and is now on his third team in three years, and has been 31-40 since 2005. Play on Pittsburgh in this one.
