Pittsburgh at Kansas City

I have beaten up on the Royals many a time this season but I'm willing to back them when I see value as I do today. Now, you likely won't ever see me backing them on the road but they are home today against a team that is also terrible on the road. Pittsburgh has no business as a favorite away from home. The Pirates are second only to KC when it comes to ineptness on the road having posted an 8-26 road record. They've also lost six straight games. Now, they have Ian Snell on the mound who has actually fared well this season. But, KC also has one of their better pitchers going tonight. Mike Wood has pitched very well of late posting a 3.86 ERA. Slight advantage on starting pitching to Pittsburgh but I like KC in the remaining matchup areas. Pittsbrugh scores 3.9 per game on the road while KC notches 5.0 per game at home. Back to momentum for a sec... KC is off two straight wins and 3 of their last four. They won 10-6 last night and over the past two seasons, as bad as it's been for KC overall, they are 7-1 at home following a game in which they scored 10+ runs. And, home teams in a matchup between two terrible teams (38% or worse) are 34-13 (72%) over the past five seasons. I'll take the home dog riding a winning streak vs. a terrible road team off six losses.
