Houston is a young team that has struggled mightily on the road where they are a hapless 10-41, but put them in the friendly confines of their own park and they become a respectable .500 team at 24-24. A.J. Burnett has been dominating at home where he is a perfect 7-0 with a 2.00 ERA. But the road has been full of landmines where his ERA rises to an unmanageable 6.30, so the Astros will certainly get their share of opportunities in this one. Dallas Kuchel has proven worthy of his opportunity in the Astros rotation, allowing 1 run or less in three of his five starts, two of which came at home where his ERA in 15 innings of work stands at a formidable 1.20. The Pirates are dominating at home, but are much less on the road where they are 7-17 in their last 24 as a road favorite and just 30-6 in their last 99 vs. a lefthander when facing one on the road.
