Pittsburgh has lost three of five games and plays its seventh straight road game here. The big problem is offense, especially away from home, ranked 30th in runs scored and on-base percentage, plus 28th in slugging with a team batting average of .218. Uggh! That struggling offense faces an excellent strikeout pitcher in Detroit's Max Scherzer (48 Ks in 41 innings). The Pirates are 30-61 in their last 91 interleague games vs. a right-handed starter and 6-20 in their last 26 interleague road games against a team with a losing record. The Pirates go with Kevin Correia, who has been awful his last three starts with an 0-3 record and a 7.13 ERA. The Tigers are 23-4 in their last 27 interleague home games against a team with a losing record and 22-10 in Scherzer's last 32 starts as a home favorite. Despite a win yesterday the Pirates are just 1-4 in the last five meetings in Detroit. Play the Tigers.
