Despite a woeful 6-18 run in their last 24 games, the Pittsburgh Pirates continue to contend for a widcard spot in the NL Playoffs as they stand just three games behind the St.  Louis Cardinals. The Cubs will turn to a struggling Travis Wood who has seen his team go a futile 2-10 over his last 12 trips to the mound, including six straight Cub losses at home. After a bad start, Kevin Correia has led the Pirates to an 11-7 mark over his last 18 starts, which includes 5-3 in his last eight on the road. He has also mastered the Cubs on the season picking up wins in both his starts, allowing just 2 runs in each.
