Pittsburgh snapped a three-game skid with a 4-3 win over the Cubs on Thursday, and the relief corps did a tremendous job allowing one hit and no runs in six innings as Yoshi Tsutsugo hit a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth. The Pirates' bullpen is fourth in the Majors in WHIP and eighth in ERA. Jose Quintana started against the Cubs on April 12 and allowed one run on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. Chicago has lost three in a row and will start Drew Smyly, who allowed six runs on 15 hits in 11 innings against Pittsburgh in 2021, although he did have a good outing against them in one appearance this season. The Cubs have lost 11 of their last 12 Friday games, and they are 11-28 in their last 39 home games dating to last season. Play the Pirates.
