It has now been over a century since the Chicago Cubs have won a World Series, and it certainly looks doubtful that drought will end anytime soon. The Cubs have been swinging the bats, with 21 runs scored in their last three games, and are not going to be an easy out here. Travis Wood has a good track record in 10 career starts vs. the Pirates where he owns a 3.35 ERA against them. Pittsburgh may find the going tough as Pirates hitters are a combined 24-for-132 against Wood over their career facing him. Pittsburgh enters just 5-13 in series game 3 in their last 18, including 2-5 behind Coles. Long term the Pirates are the better team, but not today, so play on Chicago.
