Pittsburgh at Arizona

Pittsburgh has not gone away, a much improved team thick in a pennant race at 1.5 games behind first place Milwaukee. The offense has been the biggest surprise, nineth in runs, first in on base percentage, and 11th in slugging off an 8-3 win here last night. The Pirates are 18-6 in their last 24 vs. a team with a losing record. Francisco Liriano goes here, and he's back to his old form with the team winning three in a row allowing one, one, and zero earned runs! Liriano turned in a gem on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out 11 over seven innings to pick up the win against the Giants. Since returning from the disabled list, Liriano is 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA and a 27-12 strikeout to walk ratio over 23 innings.  The Diamondbacks are 8-20 in their last 28 games as a home underdog. Starter Trevor Cahill (5.59 ERA) is no stopper, and the Diamondbacks are 8-20 when Cahill is an underdog, 1-7 in his last eight starts overall. And the Pirates are 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Arizona. Play Pittsburgh.
