Philadelphia at Washington

Washington is tied with Milwaukee for the top Wild Card spot and the Nationals will have Max Scherzer going in the second game of today's doubleheader. The Nationals had won six of the last seven meetings coming into today and the Phillies had lost four of their last five as they finish another disappointing season. Scherzer hasn't been quite as dominating as recent seasons, but he still owns a 2.81 ERA overall and 2.97 at home and he has faced the Phillies twice this season and given up only one earned run in 12 innings. Philadelphia has lost Aaron Nola's last six starts and he was pounded for five runs on nine hits in five innings his last outing at Atlanta on Thursday.
