I have a great deal of respect for Roy Halladay, but the Giants got to him in game one for 4 runs, and that was on the road. The Giants have a pretty good one on the mound tonight themselves in Tim Lincecum. While Roy Halladay was stealing the headlines with his no-hitter against the Reds, Lincecum was blanking the Atlanta Braves on two hits and 14 strikeouts. This one should be a low-scoring affair, with the outcome hanging in the balance of the bullpens. That along with the home field gives the Giants a decided edge. Since September 1, the Giants’ pen has pitched to an ERA of well under 2. Last night the Phillies’ pen coughed-up a tie game in the last of the ninth. The Phillies are now 4-11 in their last 15 as a road favorite, and the Giants’ good pitching helps them matchup with opposing stars on the mound, as they are 40-18 in their last 58 vs. a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.15 or less. I like San Francisco to advance to the World Series tonight. The total in this one is as low as it gets, but that doesn't mean that it is too low. Roy Halladay has already made 21 starts this season allowing 2 runs or less. Tim Lincecum has fallen 1 short of that with 20 starts allowing 2 runs or less, that is a combined 41 starts, with a maximum of 4 runs allowed by the 2 pitchers. The Phillies have played seven straight road games with the total posted at 6.5 or less to the UNDER. The Giants are 10-1 to the UNDER when their opponent scored 5 or more in their last game, and they are also 5-0 to the UNDER in Lincecum's last five home starts. I like the UNDER as well as San Francisco.
