It has been a long season for both of these teams. While the Padres don't have too many positives going for them, one that stands out is what they have accomplished at home this season at 42-31, and have played like a playoff team at Petco Park. Cole Hamels has had a favorable season, but pitching for an offensively challenged team, with little help in the pen, has left him at just 8-7 on the season. He has pitched admirably on the road to a 1.80 ERA, but he is just 5-5. The Phillies have had issues with finishing off a series where they have dropped five straight game threes, and Hamels has been poor in the same spot with the Phillies at 1-6 in his last seven in series game three. The Padres have dominated at home vs. a team with a losing road record where they are 11-2 in their last 13. Go with San Diego.
