Philadelphia at San Diego

The Phillies closed the first half of the season at 10-35 in their last 45 games prior to the break. Like all bad teams over the course of a 162 game season, they are going to make a run or two, and the Phillies did just that out of the All-Star break posting a 12-2 run over their first 14 games. They are settling back in as the bad team they are. And with Cole Hamels now gone, they are in a much worse state. Jerome Williams gets the ball at 3-8 with a 6.09 ERA on the season. Williams has allowed 123 hits in 85 innings. Andrew Cashner gets the ball for San Diego, and after pitching the Padres to an ugly 1-8 mark in his first nine starts, he reversed directions with them going 7-5 in his last 12.
