The NY Yankees are a game away from their first World Series win since 2000. It won't come easy as the Phillies won't give up their reigning Championship easily. This is more about the line value than anything else as the oddsmakers have taken all the value out of playing the Yankees here. Andy Pettitte made four starts this season as a -200 or more chalk. Looking at the teams and matchups in those games will reveal how "chalky" this line truly is. Those four starts were vs all teams that were below .500 on the season (NY Mets,Balt twice and Oakland). Those teams were a combined 114-200 on the road and the starting pitchers he faced had a combined 15-25 record overall. He also pitched as a -180 or higher chalk vs Oak,Texas and Boston, teams with a combined road record of 113-130 and three starting pitchers with era's of 7.16,6.12, and 5.82. This is hardly anything to compare to those situations with the Phillies and Pedro Martinez. So, basically, the oddsmakers have listed the Phillies in this one in much the same way they did with those teams and pitchers, so the only value here, and there is obviously a lot of it, is on the Phillies, and they get the call here.
