I think that most thought it would be a matter of time before the Yankees started putting things together, and they certainly have done just that by rattling off nine straight. Mark Teixera was hitting in the .190s and suddenly, with A-Rod back in the lineup, he is now up to .250 and hitting homers. The Yanks are 12-2 since A-Rod returned, and averaging over six runs per game. The pitching that was killing them early has come around as well. The Yankees pitching has now allowed four runs or less in 10 of the last 12 games. Combine an offense scoring 6+ and a staff allowing four or less, and you win a lot of games. The Phillies have been scoring a bunch lately, but unlike the Yankees, they can't hold anyone down, allowing 49 runs in their last nine games, or 5.5 a game. I will ride with the red-hot Yankees in this one.
