New York took advantage of its first home game in 16 days and the Mets beat the Phillies 7-2 as Pete Alonso slammed another homer and Sean Manaea took a two-hit shutout into the eighth inning. The Mets seem to have something magical going this season and they'll have Jose Quintana on the mound for Game 4. The left-hander has allowed only two runs in 31 innings his past five starts and he had a 0.72 ERA in September. Philadelphia has lost its last four games against left-handed starters and the Phillies have lost five of six road games overall. Ranger Suarez has allowed 15 runs his past 18 innings and he had a 6.04 ERA in September. Quintana has faced the Phillies three times in 2024 and allowed five runs on 13 hits in 16 innings.
