You have to admire the New York Mets. For a while, the sum of their parts were out-performing expectations and reality. This is a flawed team, but that being said they went 15-8 over a 23-game stretch. It is what has occurred before and after that has been troubling, as they are just 1-10 in their other 11 games. Unfortunately for them, it is the 1-10 version we have seen most recently. The Mets used seven pitchers in their 3-2 loss last night, as the Phillies should be rejuvenated after snapping a losing streak. The Phillies win the battle on the road in an anticipated low-scoring game at 5-1 in their last six to a posted total of 7 to 8.5. The Mets' home mark vs. a team with a winning road record now sits at an ugly 9-25 in their last 34. Go with the visiting Phillies.
