Philadelphia ran into a surprising performance by Chad Kuhl last night and lost 4-1 to the Rockies, but tonight the Phillies get a chance to tee off on Kyle Freeland, who has been knocked around for 10 runs on 14 hits in nine innings his first two starts. Freeland had a 4.83 ERA and .298 opponent batting average at Coors Field in 2021, and in one appearance against the Phillies he allowed four runs on five hits in six innings. Kyle Gibson goes for the Phillies, and he pitched seven shutout innings in his first start against Oakland before giving up four runs in a 4-3 loss to Miami. Current Colorado hitters are batting only .120 against Gibson in 52 at-bats. The Rockies are 4-10 in their last 14 games as home underdogs. Play the Phillies.
