Philadelphia's offense has scored 54 runs the last 11 games. Starter Jake Arrieta is having a strong campaign, with a 3.45 ERA and the team is 6-1 his last seven starts. He picked up the win in Wednesday's 7-3 victory over the Dodgers, allowing two earned runs over six innings. The Phillies are 4-1 against the American League East, the only loss being last night's 2-1 game in 13 innings. Boston is favored again but stuck with wild man Drew Pomeranz (6.91 ERA), walking 23 in 41+ innings. Free passes have always been a problem as he nibbles around the plate too much. And he's not fooling anybody, with batters hitting .310 off him. Pomeranz has a losing record at Fenway Park this season with a 7.85 ERA allowing 37 base runners in just 18 innings. The Red Sox used five relievers last night, with three of them throwing 15+ pitches, while the Phillies had only one reliever throw more than 15, making this an excellent spot for the dog. Take Philadelphia.
