The Philadelphia Phillies were outpitched in San Diego, where they dropped the last two to the lowly Padres, splitting the four-game series 2-2. Despite the sluggish start, you have to like the Phillies chances overall, as they wheel out a quality starter every game, and have already held nine opponents to 2 runs or less. Arizona has to go with Wade Miley to start this one, and he has pitched out of the pen in all three appearances this season. The last was just four days ago where he surrendered 3 runs in just 1.1 innings to the Braves. Kyle Kendrick has pitched well out of the pen with an ERA of under 2 and has been a quality part-time starter for the Phillies. The Diamondbacks are just 1-6 in their last seven vs. a right-hand starter, while the Phillies’ top-shelf rotation has bounced back big after allowing 5+ runs in their previous game to produce a 47-18 mark in their last 65 in the game that follows. Play on Philadelphia.
