Ben Sheets' lone road start resulted in 11 earned runs in five innings. He now faces Shaun Marcum who has posted a 3.44 ERA in five games for the Blue Jays. While both of these teams have struggled to score runs this season, Oakland will have a harder time here vs. Marcum. The A's have averaged just 4.2 runs per game on the road. Meanwhile, Toronto has found success vs. RHP, averaging 5.4 runs per game in 19 games. Over the past two seasons, Oakland is 16-41 vs. AL pitchers with a WHIP of 1.200 or better. That includes an 0-12 mark vs. pitchers with a WHIP of 1.100 or lower (Marcum's WHIP is 1.000). When facing teams with weak bats (batting averaged of .255 or worse), the Blue Jays are 26-14 the past two seasons. I like the Blue Jays to win this game.
