No one believed that this Oakland team could play at a high level through 162 games, but that thinking has disappeared. They got knocked down in the series opener, but like they have done all season they have bounced-back to take the next two to pull within three games of the Rangers in the West. A win today could cut the deficit to two games. The rest of their games at home, including what might become a huge series to close the season with three at home vs. these same Rangers. Matt Harrison has been the Rangers most consistent pitcher all season at 17-10 and a 3.1 ERA, but there has been one area where he has really struggled. The Rangers are just 1-12 in his last 13 starts vs. a team with a winning record. That means he has been great vs. the bad teams, but highly suspect vs. the good ones. The A's keep the momentum going after a win where they are 42-19 in their last 61, and have won 16 of their last 22 on the road. Play on Oakland.
