Oakland at St. Louis

St. Louis has won four of five after defeating the Athletics 7-5 on Monday night that featured a bases-loaded triple by Jordan Walker in the seventh inning. Oakland has lost four in a row on its way to one of the worst seasons in history and the Athletics are 15-45 on the road. Dakota Hudson is coming off two good starts against Minnesota and Tampa Bay and the Cardinals won both as he allowed six runs on nine hits in 12 innings. Spenser Watkins was recalled from Triple-A and is scheduled to start for Oakland and that illustrates the desperation by the Athletics as Watkins was 3-4 with an 8.35 ERA in 14 games in the minors. Oakland has scored only 3.14 runs per game its past seven games while the St. Louis hitters have come alive and scored 31 runs their past five games. Take the Cardinals.
