Oakland at Seattle

Oakland belted four homers in Monday night's 7-3 victory over the Mariners which clinched a playoff spot for the surprising Athletics, who are 61-26 since June 15. Khris Davis hit his major-league leading 46th home run and his 120th RBI. Oakland still has motivation to win as it still is 1 1/2 games behind the Yankees for home-field advantage in the Wild Card game next week. Brett Anderson is on the mound for Oakland and he comes off 6 2/3 scoreless innings on only three hits in his team's 10-0 win over the Angels last Wednesday. Anderson also shut out the Mariners for 7 2/3 innings on Aug. 15 although Seattle won the game by a 2-0 score. Seattle is finishing up a disappointing season as it fizzled down the stretch and Mike Leake was touched for five runs in 6 1/3 innings his last outing at Houston. Also, Leake gave up six runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings versus Oakland in August. Back the Athletics.
