Oakland at Seattle

Seattle appears to be back in form after a rough stretch in early September and the Mariners now have won four in a row after defeating the Athletics 5-1 as Sam Haggerty had a two-run single and a sacrifice fly for Seattle. Oakland has lost six straight while scoring only 12 runs and the Athletics will easily finish with the worst record in the American League. Seattle still can fend off Tampa Bay for a better seed in the wild card race although the Mariners have clinched a spot. Robbie Ray has a 2.75 ERA and .201 opponent batting average at home and he has allowed only five runs in 24 2/3 innings against the Athletics this season. James Kaprielian is 4-9 with a 4.43 ERA and the Athletics have lost six of his last eight starts. Seattle has won 30 of 42 versus teams with .400 or below winning percentages.
