Seattle clobbered the Athletics 11-3 last night as Jarred Kelenic homered and the Mariners banged out 13 hits. Oakland lost its fifth in a row and eighth in nine games. The Athletics are 5-19 on the road and already 20 games out of first place and we're still in May. They will face Marco Gonzales, who is anxious to redeem himself after getting knocked out of the game in the second inning after giving up eight runs against Boston on Wednesday. However, current Oakland hitters are batting just .222 with three home runs in 81 at-bats against Gonzales. Luis Medina has made three starts for the Athletics and allowed 13 earned runs in 17 innings. Oakland continues to have the worst bullpen in the major leagues with a 6.62 ERA and 1.72 WHIP with only four saves. The Mariners have one of the best with a 3.13 ERA and 1.27 WHIP and 12 saves.
