Oakland started the season well but has fallen off a cliff since, losing 12 of 16. This is the end of a 10-game road trip, and they look worn out. The Athletics are 6-25 as a dog, 6-23 as a road underdog. It doesn't get any easier here against Mariners ace Felix Hernandez (5-0, 1.73). Hernandez has won his last four turns and is holding opposing hitters to a collective .192 average during his superb start to the season. The Mariners are 25-8 in Hernandez's last 33 starts as well as 25-10 when King Felix faces a team with a losing record.
