Oakland at New York

New York finished the season 53-28 at home and the Yankees broke the all-time home run record by one team in a season and Yankee Stadium obviously had a lot to do with it. The Yankees have won five of their last seven games and are healthy again with Aaron Judge and Didi Gregorious returning from injuries. Luis Severino gets the start in the Wild Card game and he owns a 19-8 record and 3.39 ERA on the season overall and he's 10-2 at home with a 2.74 ERA and .217 opponent batting average. The Bronx Bombers have won 22 of Severino's last 26 home starts and they have won 72 of their last 103 home games overall dating to last season. New York has won 47 of their last 66 home games versus right-handed starters and they have won their last six home playoff contests. Liam Hendriks gets the call for Oakland and he will be making just his ninth start of the season and he has given up eight runs in 9 2/3 innings on the road mostly as a reliever. The Athletics have not a good recent history in the postseason as they have lost 11 of their last 15 playoff games. Also, Oakland has lost five of its last six road games this year against right-handed starters. Take the Yankees.
