This is a ridiculous line. The Yankees are the worst team in baseball against the moneyline and they continue to be over-valued. The one given starting the season was this team was going to score more runs than anyone. That given has been anything but. They have gotten old over night. They have now proceeded to go into yet another offensive slump and have produced a grand total of 6 runs in their last 5 games, getting out-scored 22-6 in the process, while being shutout twice. The Yankees are just 2-8 and have negated their long win streak. The reality is this team is four games under .500, and if you take out the 11 wins in 12 games, the only time in the season they have done anything, they are 26-40. Dan Haren has been the best pitcher in the AL all season, and has an ERA under two. His last four starts against the Yankees have resulted in similar fashion as he has posted a 2.02 ERA, pitching to one earned run or less in three of them. The only record this Yankee team may set is being favored more than any under .500 team in baseball history. Andy Pettitte has pitched good, but the Yankees are just 7-11 in his starts on the season. Pettitte has been his worst over his last five starts. He has allowed more hits than innings pitched and his ERA is a mediocre 4.76. Shannon Stewert has owned Andy, he is 25-58 .431, and Eric Chavez is at .455, and three others over .300 against Pettitte. The A's take the series.
