Los Angeles suddenly has a four-game winning streak after beating the Athletics on Thursday. Shohei Ohtani and Kole Calhoun each hit a two-run homer and Oakland was held to five hits by three Angel pitchers. The Angels have won their last five home games and they are 20-9 the last 29 meetings at Angel Stadium. Noe Ramirez will start for the third time this season and he has a 2.95 ERA overall and likely will pitch just a couple innings. That formula will work for the Angels, who have allowed a total of only nine runs their last four games.
