Oakland at Los Angeles

The LA Angels are among a rather surprisingly large group of AL teams that are fighting for a playoff slot. The Angels are currently just one game behind the Twins for the second and last playoff spot. They are in a group of seven teams separated by just three games for that final spot, so needless to say, every game is critical for the Halos. They have to take advantage of playing a team that is already out of it, and tonight they get that shot vs. the Oakland A's. Like other small market teams, Oakland cashes in their chips for prospects, and a look ahead to the future. Oakland is just 2-5 in LA this season, and the state of this team can be defined by the fact this is the eighth game in LA, and the seventh different starter by the A's.
