Nobody is going to catch the Astros in the AL West, but the Wild Card race in the American League involves five teams all separated by just 2.5 games. One of those teams is the Oakland A's. They have a great opportunity in front of them with a three-game series in Kansas City, one of the worst teams in the league. If the A's take care of business and sweep the three-game series, they are going to emerge as a hot contender, and their next series is vs. the Angels, who at 70-73 have fallen out of the race.
