Oakland at Kansas City

Oakland snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over Tampa Bay on Thursday, but it was the first time the Athletics have scored more than three runs in seven games. Kansas City has won three of its last four after beating Minnesota two of three, including Wednesday's 11-8 win when the Royals nearly blew a big lead before hanging on for the win. Ian Kennedy bounced back with a decent effort, following a rough stretch as he gave up just two runs on five hits in five innings at Texas on Saturday. Kennedy has a 3.66 ERA at home as opposed to 7.01 on the road and Frankie Montas will be making his first road start for the Athletics. The Royals had a horrible start to the season, but have played better of late especially since getting Salvador Perez back in the lineup. Kansas City has averaged 5.3 runs its last nine games.
