The right-hander is 3-6 with a 5.16 road ERA and the Tigers will be facing him for the first time. The Athletics have lost 50 of their last 62 road games versus left-handed starters dating to last season. Chad Bell will make his fourth start for Detroit after pitching in relief for most of the season. None of the current Athletics hitters have ever faced him.
