Oakland at Chicago

Oakland is beginning to look respectable as it has won four of five and won its second straight on Friday night while banging out 15 hits in a 12-4 victory over the White Sox. Nick Allen hit a solo homer, a two-run single and two RBI singles for the Athletics. Chicago is having a miserable season and has lost seven of nine and the White Sox are 29 games below .500 and 26-37 at home. JP Sears goes for the Athletics tonight and he hasn't pitched as badly as his record indicates as he does own a 1.20 WHIP and he has done much better on the road where he has a 3.93 ERA than at home. Touki Tossaint 1-6 and has been as bad as his record with a 5.30 ERA and 1.55 WHIP for the White Sox and he gave up seven runs in four innings in a 14-2 loss to Seattle on Monday.
