Chicago improved to 40-18 at home with a 6-5 victory over the Athletics on Monday night when Javier Baez hit two homers and the Cubs held on as Oakland left two men on in the ninth inning. The Cubs have won four in a row and have won their last six interleague home games versus left-handed starters. They are 34-16 their last 50 home games against southpaw starters and 45-15 in Jon Lester's last 60 home starts. The Athletics have lost Brett Anderson's last two starts and Lester is 6-2 with a 2.95 ERA at home this season. Oakland hitters who have faced Lester have a .196 batting average against him.
