New York at Toronto

The New York Yankees are back in its familiar spot as the favorite in the AL East. They start the season toting a powerhouse lineup that includes Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez and the newly-acquired Giancarlo Stanton who comes off a 59-homer season with the Marlins. Luis Severino gets the Opening Day start after finishing 2017 with a 14-6 record and 2.98 ERA. The right-hander did his best pitching on the road where he was 6-1 and 2.24 and he was 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in April. In one start at Rogers Centre, Severino gave up two runs on six hits in seven innings. J.A. Happ was 0-3 in April last season and had a mediocre year with a 10-11 record and 3.53 ERA for Toronto. The Blue Jays have regressed a bit and haven't signed Jose Bautista, who still is a free agent. The Blue Jays had a losing record in every month except May last year. Play the Yankees.
