Despite losing four of five starting rotation to injury, the New York Yankees have fared well, and more than held their own. The addition of Chase Headly has lengthened their lineup, and David Phelps appears to be finally tuning into the pitcher that the Yankees' brass thought he could be. Phelps has not suffered a loss since June 7th, where he is 3-0 with four no decisions, and has not allowed more than 2 runs in any of his last five starts, lowering his ERA to 3.77. Yu Darvish is a top-of-the-rotation pitcher on a bad team. The Rangers own a woeful 8-26 record in their last 34 vs. a winning club, and the offense has struggled against right-handed pitching where they are 6-20 in their last 26. The Yanks have gotten off to a good start at 10-4 in a series opener in their last 14, and own four wins in their last five trips to Texas. Back the Bombers.
