The loudest noise in this series between these slugging teams came off the bat of A Rod in game one as he hit a three run homer. The bats were silenced yesterday with a 2-0 verdict going to the Rangers in game two. There is a lot of strength in a pair of deep bullpens so the total here seems unreasonably high, especially early in the season when all the bats are not booming just yet. Phil Hughes numbers distorted by one bad start as he has allowed two runs or less in the other two and certainly is capable of shutting down the Rangers for five innings and allowing the Yankee pen to do the rest as they have been great. Hughes has been much more effective on five days rest where the Yankees are 12-5 in his last 17. The Rangers have been at the mercy of opponents behind Feldman when he faces a winning team at just 2-10 in his last 12. Hughes is 6-1-2 to the UNDER on the road vs. a winning team his last nine, while the Rangers cashing at a 13-3-1 clip to the UNDER in their last 17 as a favorite.  The Rangers are also 7-1 to the UNDER at home vs. righthand pitching in their last eight. Take the Yanks and UNDER in this one.
