The New York Yankees have been better than advertised, but despite that fact, they have really struggled behind former ace CC Sabathia. Sabathia's velocity is way down from where it was when he was at the top of the rotation, and the effects are seen in the win/loss column. Sabathia has yet to record a win this season at 0-5. Sabathia over the last two seasons is 3-9 with an ERA over 5, allowing 105 hits in 84 innings, and 18 of those hits left the yard, which is more than one long ball in every 4.5 innings pitched. The Yanks are consequently 1-8 in his last nine starts. The Rays lineup may not be scary, but they have taken advantage of weak pitching and are 5-0 in their last five vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.35. Make the play on Tampa Bay.
